Day5: Another great day of warm sunshine and blue skies. Though the snow still hasn't melted and the streams and rivers are icy cold. In this photo you can see four of our intrepid caving crew...

Pasha on the left looking happy and cheerful and as usual never complaining, despite being totally covered in mud. Then Artiom - bold, strong and experienced...but still covered in mud.

On the right are two of our wonderful girls - Olisia with her cute smile liked her first experience caving. Although Yulia is looking a little bit doubtful about the whole 'crawling through mud passages' experience

The view from near the cave entrances down to the clear mountain stream. The water was basically melted snow and was icy cold but pure as spring water.

The stream was the ideal way to wake up in the morning although I didn't prolong the experience any longer than necessary.

This area is so wild and remote that it was quite difficult to find the mouths of the caves in a ravine on the side of some hills covered completely in silverbirch forest. We frequently had to find our way across mountain streams like this one.

Unfortunately the batteries in my Minolta camera had died so all the excellent photos on this page were made by my friend Pasha with his Canon G5. These pictures have all been edited and resized as the originals were in 2560x1920 format.
