When we arrived back from the caves, this was the view from our basecamp looking out of the woods towards the small farming village beyond. Almost every night was an awesome sunset.

The picture below was taken around midnight as we all huddled around the blazing fire, talked, drank and told jokes. Pasha regaled us with some more of his great stories.

~ The Fourth Night ~
After cooking our supper, we stoked up the fire with pine logs and huddled close for warmth. The nights there were always below freezing. Had to use a 5 second exposure for this photo.
I'm very proud of this cool photo showing our blazing campfire amidst all the trees under a full moon. We stood around drinking tea while we waited for the pot of stew to cook on the fire.

These photos were all made by Pasha with his Canon G5. He's very good at setting up perfect shots as you can see in my favourite picture below.

The views below and on the left are through the woods from our basecamp on the evening of the 3rd day.During sunset the temp drops 10C.

The photo on the right shows the view along the only track we found during our hike back from the caves.
Despite several days of warm weather the ground is still mostly frozen and in the forest there is several inches of snow and ice.
