Nothingness
Sorry, your browser doesn't support Java. In the immensity of our universe,
among a million galaxies and stars,
two souls together found pleasure,
for a brief time their lives touched
and under the starlit skies all was as new
and every kiss was like the first.

To him the deepest philosophies
and to him the wonders of the mind,
seemed as nothing to the smallest look from she,
who in mere glance or word alone
could raise up or cast down their world

amongst a million humans and their lives,
over aeons of steadily growing wisdom
together they carved their marks in stone
like a simple rose one passion seemed
and endured it for all time and never died
its name carried on their living breaths

apart in time and apart in space
how intensely then his sorrow feels
as though the stars have all gone out
and the stage is full of nothing.
for what immensity of galaxies to him now
can hold even one tear of such emotion.
